I practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. This therapy combines modern psychotherapy with hypnosis. The psychotherapy work is mainly based on Solution Focused Brief Therapy, incorporating some aspects of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).
The key feature of this form of psychotherapy is that it is future-oriented, focusing on solutions and how you want life to be, rather than focusing on your problems and their causes. It is a very positive and gentle process, which makes people feel good. Through this talking therapy you will come to understand yourself more, learning about the connections between your thoughts, emotions, bodily responses, and behaviours. It will also help you to make changes, supporting your journey forward.
Hypnosis is nothing magical or occult. There will be no swinging pendulums, and I won’t be making you dance like a chicken! Hypnosis is a relaxed and focused state which is like a guided daydream. In this state the mind and body are calm and relaxed. This is very beneficial as it allows us to calm overactive minds, settle disturbed emotions, and release tensions which build up in the body. In this relaxed state our brains are able to process the talking we’ve been doing, and make beneficial changes. This will make it easier for you to move forward with your life, and you may find that the whole process feels very effortless.
